November 12, 2019 SEWA organises workshops and educational programmes at 6 schools

The Conservation Department at Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA), organised a number of workshops and educational programmes in 6 schools, during the month of October, benefiting 400 students, and more than 50 teachers. This came to educate the public on the importance of conservation culture, and shed light on the various methods implemented for energy production and water desalination in the aim of reducing consumption.

His Excellency Dr. Eng. Rashid Al Leem, Chairman of SEWA, highlighted that SEWA seeks to make all segments of society aware of the importance of conserving water and energy consumption, one of the necessary elements to using resources wisely.

The Chairman of SEWA added, that SEWA over the past years have achieved its objectives by raising awareness of conversation in the Emirate of Sharjah, reducing the rates of water, electricity and gas consumption, which lead to saving more than 30% of the resources in a large number of institutions and buildings.

Eng. Ghada Juma, Director of Conservation Department, pointed out that the Department is intensifying its efforts to educate students about the importance of conserving energy and water consumption through the use of modern conservation methods, which comes under the strategic vision of the Emirate of Sharjah, in changing patterns of consumption.
