The Ruler of Sharjah receives the Egyptian Prime Minister 

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, the Member of the Supreme Council & Ruler of Sharjah received on the 5th December 2006 H.E Dr, Ahmed Nazif, the Egyptian Prime Minister who is on a visit to UAE to take part in the Arab Strategy Forum in Dubai.. The Meeting, held at the Ruler’s Office was attended by Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qassimi, the Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah.

Dr. Nazif conveyed to His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah the greetings of the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and his best wishes and hopes for good health to His Highness.

H.H the Ruler of Sharjah requested the Egyptian Prime Minister to convey his greetings to the Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and his wishes of prosperity and progress for the UAE and Egyptian people.

His Highness Dr. Sultan and Dr. Nazif discussed the UAE-Egypt bilateral ties and cooperation and explored ways to further enhance their strategic relations for the best benefit of two people. His Highness the Ruler affirmed the strong historical relations linked between UAE and Egypt and the close coordination between the leaderships of the two countries on all issues of join concern. He highlighted the vital role being played by Egypt in the region.

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi announced his donation to fund the establishment of a technology institute in Egypt to be modeled on Sharjah Institute of Technology.

The Egyptian Prime Minister expressed his pleasure to meet His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah. He added His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi is known as one of the leaders who are passionately attached with Egypt and Arabism as general and every Egyptian appreciate such sincere affection and cordiality of His Highness towards their country.

Dr. Nazif lauded the quantum development leap the Emirate of Sharjah made under the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, the Member of the Supreme Council & Ruler of Sharjah. He noted that every Arab citizen feel proud is proud of these great achievements made by Sharjah particularly in high education field.

The Egyptian Prime Minister stressed the established relations linked between Egypt and UAE in particular the Emirate of Sharjah. He noted the permanent Egyptian centre which will be opened next march at EXPO Sharjah as the first of its kind in Egypt outside Egypt. He added that this centre will be established as symbol of brotherhood relationship linked between the UAE and Egyptian peoples.

Dr. Nazif hailed the contributions of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi to several important projects in Egypt particularly in education and training fields in line with his interest to further boast the relationship between the two countries. In this regard he Thanked His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah for his plan to fund the establishment of a technology institute on model of Sharjah Institute of Technology which is yet another addition to Sharjah's educational and technological progress.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Abdullah bin Salim Al Qassimi, the Chairman of the Amiri Court, Sheikh Esaam bin Saqar bin Humaid Al Qassimi, the Chairman of the Ruler's Office, Mr. Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansouri, the Minister of the Government Sector Development,  members of the delegation accompanying the Egyptian Prime Minister, a number of officials and Mr. Mohammed Sa'ad Obeid, the Egyptian Ambassador to UAE.
